Singing for Hypertension

Medising recently ran a pilot of singing groups for people with hypertension funded by Bromley Council.

Singing has been shown to help lower blood pressure as well as having other health benefits. All sessions were free and either online or in person.
Results have shown that for 89 percent of particiants their blood pressure was lower at the midpoint and end of course.

Some feedback from our participants:

I have been surprised at how much exercise this involved… I’ve used muscles in my stomach I didn’t know I had! Nicola is a very engaging teacher and very relaxed about our attempts at the exercises! I’m really grateful to have been included on the course as I happen to have been having an extreme stressful time over the last month with illness in the family. This has helped me a great deal. Thank you.
New ideas, socialising, having an event to get out for, supportive cheerful leaders.
Thank you. It's been great and I have seen some of the lowest BP readings for a long time..Nicola is so warm and welcoming and I always left the session feeling relaxed and calm.
